Wet Felting at Gale Woods Farm

On Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista, participants will use wool, water and soap to make their own finger puppets. We’ll take time to meet the sheep and learn how the wool goes from sheep to puppets. Cost is $20 and reservations are required by Oct. 16. Preschool Drop-off: Kits & Cubs — Little Brown Bat

Monday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m.-noon, at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Drop off the kids to discover the secret lives of bats. Fly into a “bat cave,” play “feed the bat” and a bat-moth game. Hike in search of bat habitats. Make a bat headband, sing batty songs, and enjoy a snack. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., or 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Each week’s activities are based on a different children’s book with a nature-inspired art theme. We will spend part of every class exploring what autumn brings to our life-filled wetlands, woods and prairies; then get messy as we cut, paste, paint, or sculpt Dress for the weather and bring a light snack, water bottle, and a bag to keep all your projects together.
