Hennepin County Commissioners to Take Oath of Office Jan. 8

The following was provided by Hennepin County.

Reelected Hennepin County commissioners Mike Opat (1st District), Randy Johnson (5th District), Jan Callison (6th District), and Jeff Johnson (7th District); and newly elected Commissioner Linda Higgins (District) will be sworn in on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. in the 24^th Floor Board Room of the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. Sixth St. in downtown Minneapolis.

Commissioners Gail Dorfman (3rd District) and McLaughlin (4th District) were not up for reelection last year, so do not need to be sworn in.

Following the oath-of-office ceremony, there will be a brief organizational board meeting to elect board chair and vice chair for 2013, and to name chairs and vice chairs of board committees.

Both the ceremony and the meeting will be broadcast live (as are all board meetings) on Metro Cable Network/Channel 6, and rebroadcast Friday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m.; and streamed lived on the Hennepin County website – www.hennepin.us.
