Thad Cialek of Freewheel Bike will demonstrate basic bike maintenance and answer questions at bike labs March 4-May 6. Cialek will cover changing a flat tire, patching a tube, reinstalling a wheel and lubricating the chain, derailleurs and brake pivots.
A cycle mechanic for 10 years, Cialek has been Golden Wrench Certified with Freewheel Bike since 2010. He was certified as an Elite Mechanic by Barnett’s Bicycle Institute in Colorado and received training at the Park Tool Technical Summit, a professional training program in which the biggest cycling component companies provide hands-on training for shop mechanics.
Handouts will include a recommended service schedule. The workshops are presented in collaboration with Freewheel Bike.
