
Following the retirement of Dan Barnier earlier this year, Dan Wilson was recently promoted to Maple Grove Police Sargeant by the Maple Grove City Council.
Wilson has been with the city since March of 2003.
"During his years with our department, Dan has served in both the patrol and services division, as a patrol officer, investigator, field training officer and Anoka-Hennepin Drug Task Force member," Chief Dave Jess wrote in a memo to the council.

Wilson was one of three candidates interviewed for the position.
"He will truly be an assest to the management team of the Maple Grove Polcice Department," Jess wrote.

The appointment was approved at the March 18, 2013 city council meeting.
