
At the request of local business DC Wellness Center, Mayor Mark Steffenson recently proclaimed Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 as “Community Wellness Day” in Maple Grove.
The proclamation is in conjunction with a free event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center Saturday, Sept. 29. DC Wellness Center organized the event, which is expected to include several vendors representing “various aspects of health, safety, finance and environment,” according to a memo provided to the Maple Grove City Council at the Sept. 17 regular meeting.
“The event will offer a variety of resources in which residents can help ensure overall wellness for themselves, their family and the community,” according a staff memo.

The proclamation states: “I, Mark Steffenson, Mayor, do hereby proclaim the 29th of September 2012 as “Community Wellness Day” in Maple Grove, Minnesota, and urge that this day be dedicated to the efforts of our community members in helping educate citizens on the importance of health, safety and environmental and financial issues affecting our community.”
