Swedish Twined Knitting at Gale Woods Farm

Join Wendy Johnson of Saga Hill Designs on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 1-4 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista, to learn the basics of tvaandsticking (Swedish two-ended/twined knitting) and start a pair of durable fingerless mitts. This traditional Swedish knitting technique dates back to the late 1600s. It uses two ends of yarn, creating a dense, warm, double-knitted fabric.

This class is for more advanced knitters — those who know how to knit, purl and work on double-pointed needles. Bring your own knitting needles and finishing supplies; a supply list will be provided upon registration. Yarn and pattern will be provided.

Cost is $45 and reservations are required by Oct. 16, 2012. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #437425-02. This program is for ages 14+.
