
A $2,500 donatation from Walmart for fire prevention programs was accepted by the Maple Grove City Council at the Oct. 1 meeting.
The donation will be used for printing workbooks and to purchase activity books and supplies used in the classrooms for fire prevention programs, according to a memo provided to the council. Funds will also be used to purchase several life jackets for the water safety portion of the preschool program.
Maple Grove fire prevention programs are taught to "every kindergarten, fourth, fifth grade studen all Maple Grove school, both public and private."
