Fight Prompted Lockdown Tuesday At Osseo Middle School: Principal
No one was allowed into or out of the building while the school was locked down for about 50 minutes Tuesday afternoon, the principal said.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Osseo Middle School was placed in lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a fight started in the building and “quickly moved outside,” according to a message from the school’s principal.
Principal Brian Chance said administrators “immediately” called Maple Grove police, who helped resolve the situation after the fight “moved outside because of an external threat.”

Osseo Middle School operated in a “shelter-in-place” mode for the rest of the school day before students were dismissed as usual at 2:40 p.m., officials said.

Maple Grove police told Patch they could not provide any details about the incident that prompted the lockdown at Osseo Middle School because they are still investigating.

Kay Villella, communications director for Osseo Area Schools, said she could not provide any more information about the external threat due to “data privacy.”
