Fryer Fire at Plymouth Culvers, Hand Stuck in Elevator: Maple Grove Fire Blotter

The following are incidents were responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department from March 4-17, 2013. Details provided by the fire department

March 4

• Southbound I-494 south of Bass Lake Road. Motor vehicle accident with injuries. Rollover accident. Accident was in Plymouth so this is a mutual aid assist to Plymouth.  Assisted with extrication.
• 63rd Avenue North and Magda Drive. Chemical spill or leak. Assist at traffic accident with cleanup of spilled motor fluids. 

March 5

• 8200 block of Niagara Lane North. EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury.
• County Road 81 and Zachary Lane. Motor vehicle accident with injuries. Came across accident. Stopped at scene and assisted with EMS and traffic control.

March 6

• 12900 block Weaver Lake Road North. Extrication of victim(s) from building/structure. Report of child with hand stuck between the doors of an elevator.  Arrived on scene and discovered person had been freed from elevator. 

March 7

• 6100 block of Quinwood Lane, Plymouth. Cooking fire, confined to container. Mutual aid assist to Plymouth at Culver's Restaurant for fire in fryer.
• 9600 block of Upland Lane North. Strange odor/smell.

March 9

• 11900 block of 71st Avenue North. Medical assist, assist EMS crew.

March 12

• Interstate 694 and Interstate 494. Assist police or other governmental agency. Called to assist with CPR. North's physician stopped CPR. Assisted Medical Examiner with deceased. Provided traffic control.

March 14

• I-94 E of Maple Grove Parkway. Steam, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke.

March 15

• 9000 block of Cheshire Lane North Medical assist, assist EMS crew.
• 5100 block of Cottonwood Lane/Plymouth Building fire. Mutual aid assist to Plymouth for house fire.

March 16

• 9400 block of Dunkirk Lane North. Odor, smell of gas. Used four-gas monitor.  Nothing found.  Called CenterPoint Energy to scene to investigate further.
• 18100 block of 91st Avenue North. Odor, smell of gas. Dispatched to investigate odor of natural gas outside of home.  Meter was making unusual sounds.  CenterPoint Energy was dispatched to scene to investigate further.

March 17

• 7200 block of Kirkwood Lane North. Strange odor/smell
• 12800 block of 94th Avenue North Medical assist.

There were also nine malfunctioning/false alarms.
