Maple Grove Man Killed In Crash On I-94 In St. Michael: Police

MAPLE GROVE, MN — A 62-year-old Maple Grove man was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon on I-94 in St. Michael, according to police.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Dean Patrick Johnson died Tuesday when his semi-truck rear-ended an SUV and struck a barrier before rolling onto its side. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old woman from North Dakota, was not injured in the crash, police said.

The crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. on westbound I-94 near the off ramp to Highway 241, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

Police and transportation officials closed the westbound lanes of I-94 for several hours Tuesday afternoon to investigate the fatal crash.
