
The following information was provided by the city of Maple Grove from the spring 2013 newsletter.
The Maple Grove City Council has directed the Citizens Advisory Committee to make preparations for a community survey to be conducted in early 2013.
The Citizens Advisory Committee began the 2013 survey process by reviewing the questions and the results of the 2008 phone survey. It is expected that many of the same questions will be used so the results between the 2008 and 2013 survey can be compared. A few new questions will likely be added to account for changes in the community.

A survey consultant will be hired by administer the survey and develop a final report. The committee will plan an integral role in assisting the consultant in the development of the survey instrument.
It is expected that the survey will be mailed to randomly selected residents. The survey will likely have an option to complete it online versus mailing it back to the city. To be statistically significant, the goal is to receive about 400 completed surveys. The primary goal of the survey is to assess the attitudes and opinions of residents by:

- Evaluating city programs and services
- Determining general perceptions of the quality of life in Maple Grove
- Identifying issues facing the city
- Identifying demographic changes
- Setting benchmarks for future surveys
Overall, the 2008 survey suggested the residents of Maple Grove were highly satisfied with their quality of life and with most aspects of the community. Progress of the 2013 survey and summary results will be printed in future city newsletters as well as found in the city website.
