Maple Grove Police Locate Stolen Car, Arrest Driver
Police say Jonathon Stuart Listrom was driving a car with a punched-out steering column when they stopped him.

A Lexington, Minn., man has been charged with being in possession of a stolen car after police found the car parked in front of a Maple Grove home.
Jonathon Stuart Listrom, 26, is charged with receiving stolen property, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, signed by Maple Grove Police Detective Laurel Slawson, police were called to a home in the 9100 block of Kirkwood Lane just after midnight Oct. 3 on a report of a car parked in the front yard.

Officers found the car, checked its license plate and learned that it had been reported stolen from Century College in Mahtomedi at about 7 p.m. Oct. 2.
As police watched, a man later identified as Listrom got into the car and drove away. After he was stopped, officers found that the car’s steering column had been punched, and the car had been started with a screwdriver.

A shirt had been draped over the steering wheel to conceal the punched steering column, according to the complaint.
Listrom was arrested. He admitted to officers that he has been caught before driving stolen cars with punched-out steering columns, according to the complaint.
Listrom has been released from custody on a $3,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his latest case is scheduled Nov. 15 in Hennepin County District Court.
