Maple Grove Man Identified as Victim in Shooting at Minneapolis Business
Jacob Bruce Beneke of Maple Grove, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, died of multiple gunshot wounds and "was a victim of the workplace incident" Sept. 27.
Maple Grove resident Jacob Bruce Beneke has been identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as one of the victims of the .
According to a Sept. 28 press release from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Beneke, 34, died of multiple gunshot wounds and “was a victim of the workplace incident yesterday.”

Beneke was a mixed media sculpture artist and active volunteer at the Maple Grove Arts Center, according Maple Grove Arts Center Executive Director Lorrie Link.
“Jacob was a great artist - his sculpture, paintings were fun, expressive and made us laugh—everything he touched was creative,” Link wrote in an email to Patch. “Jacob was very enthusiastic about seeing the arts happen in Maple Grove. My prayers go out to his family, his wife and son.”
Beneke had been actively involved with the Maple Grove Arts Center for the last couple years, according to Link. Most recently, a volunteer co-chair for the "The Business of Art" initiative - talking to area businesses about hanging artworks in their establishments.
Beneke was a digital imaging supervisor at Accent Signage, according to a Star Tribune report.

The suspected shooter, Andres Engeldinger, 36, of Minneapolis was also positively identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. Minneapolis police continue their investigation into the incident.
