Maple Grove Woman Dies After Rear-Ending Stopped Semi

The crash happened Monday night on Interstate 694.

A Maple Grove woman died in a Brooklyn Center crash Monday night, according to the State Patrol.

Joann E. Rogers, 62, was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition on the right shoulder of Interstate 694, near Shingle Creek Parkway, at 7:50 p.m. At the last minute, she tried to cut over into the right lane and rear-ended a semi that was stopped.

Her time of death is listed as the same time as the crash.

Rogers was not wearing a seat belt at the time, according to the State Patrol.

The report does not specify whether the semi driver—56-year-old Kenneth Spaid, of Nissaw—was injured.

The State Patrol expects to complete the report later. Patch will have more information as it becomes available.
