Photos: 2013 Maple Grove Empty Bowls Event
Approximately $10,000 was raised for CROSS Foodshelf, according to organizers.
Community members gathered Thursday, March 14, 2013 for the eighth annual Maple Grove Empty Bowls event.
Empty Bowls raises awareness about hunger issues, educates children and adults about community service and raises funds for CROSS Food Shelf, which serves the communities of Maple Grove, Osseo, Rogers, Corcoran, West Champlin, and Dayton, according to organizers.
During the 2013 event, about $10,000 was raised, according to organizers.

Attendees choose a bowl, ate a simple bowl of soup and bread and keep the bowl as a reminder of empty bowls in our community. Guests contribute a donation dependent on the chosen bowl.
Bowls were created by local artists, community members, and students and staff from Osseo Area Schools.
