Sunday Tornado Watch for Maple Grove Expires Early
The threat of severe weather ended early Sunday when the National Weather Service dropped a tornado watch for Hennepin County it had issued earlier in the day.
A tornado watch issued around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon was dropped around 7:30 p.m. yesterday evening for Maple Grove and Hennepin County, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch was initially in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday night.
During the brief storm that moved through the Maple Grove area, some parts of the city experience pea sized hail, strong winds and rain.

As of Monday morning, the National Weather Service continued to have a hazardous weather outlook for multiple Minnesota counties, including Hennepin County, throughout the evening. The outlook is aimed "PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MINNESOTA...EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA... SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST WISCONSIN AND WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN," as stated on the National Weather Service website.
More rain is possible in the metro throughout the coming week, according to the latest NWS forecast.
