Two New Officers Hired in Maple Grove Police Department

The new hires will fill the spots vacated by retiring officers.

Two new officers will be joining the Maple Grove Police Department. 

The Maple Grove City Council approved the hiring of Derek Jacobson and James Ohnstad to the department. 

Both officers will join the force effective June 4 to replace positions vacated by two officer retirements.

There were four applicants for the positions. In a memo to the council, both are hired subject to a 12-month probationary period and have undergone the required screenings and background checks.
