STA Earns Invitation to Shoot at National Air Rifle Championship

Saint Thomas Academy announced Tuesday that Chase Nordstrom ’12 of Edina has earned an invitation to compete in the 22^nd American Legion Junior Air Rifle National Championship at the USA Shooting Facility, Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colo., on Aug. 7-12, 2012. Nordstrom earned the honor – and the all-expenses-paid trip to the competition – by placing in the top 15 nationally in the Sporter division.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for Chase,” said CW4 Paul Preblich, adviser of theRifle Team. “No other Academy cadet has reached this level of competition in my nine years as the team adviser. He has worked hard and will represent himself and the Academy well against the elite shooters from across the country.”
