Diseased Ash Trees To Be Removed From Par 3 Golf Course

The trees will be removed this fall, the city's Parks and Recreation Department said.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN β€” Several diseased ash trees, along with some diseased invasive trees, will be removed from Par 3 Golf Course in Mendota Heights this fall, the city's Parks and Recreation Department shared on Facebook.

The trees have been infected by the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive pest that feeds on primarily ash trees, killing them, according to the department. The trees that are being removed are no longer treatable and must be removed, the city said.

10 trees will be removed and will be replaced with 14 including: Swamp White Oak, disease-resistant Elm species, Hackberry, Ohio Buckeye, Prairie Gold Aspen and others, the city said.
