Mendota Heights Implements Watering Restrictions
The restrictions are effective beginning Tuesday.
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — The city of Mendota Heights announced that it would implement new watering restrictions effective Tuesday.
The city had previously urged residents to conserve water during Minnesota's drought, but now residents are required to follow the Odd/Even watering schedule and are prohibited from watering between noon and 6 p.m., according to the city's website.
The restrictions will be enforced beginning Friday by Saint Paul Regional Water Services, the city said.

There are a few exceptions to the restrictions:
- Commercial watering, such as plant nurseries and community gardens
- Hand watering of gardens, bushes, etc. is encouraged to follow the Odd/Even watering schedule during cooler times of the day, but residents may water outside these times if necessary
- Watering of new trees and sod
- Children's recreational sprinkler/pool activities
