Justice Page, who has had a remarkable career as an NFL defensive player and Supreme Court Justice, has found value in books as something to bring his family closer together. He and his daughter Kamie Page have written four books together.

Author of Dolores Huerta: A Hero to Migrant Workers, is a former teacher who wanted to introduce her students to real-life heroes and leaders, which is why she started to write her own picture book biographies.

β€œSometimes it can be hard to feel connected with other people, especially during a pandemic. Literacy events like this one remind me that everyone loves stories. We all have stories to share. Stories bring us together,” Warren shared.

The last author highlighted in this event, also worked in public schools and noted her inspiration in students. Bidania, writes chapter books about Hmong American characters and hopes that anyone who reads her books can see how relatable and fun the characters are.

β€œI hope students and families will learn about new books they might not have known about and also learn about the importance of diverse representation in books. This is an important opportunity for the school community to understand the importance of reading books of all kinds, and see how books can make a positive difference in a young reader's life.”
