Osseo Area Schools ISD 279: Osseo Area Schools Artists Win Awards At The Northwestern High School Art Exhibit

During the exhibition, gallery visitors voted on their favorite artwork and winners were selected for all of the area high schools.

Fourteen Osseo Area Schools students won awards at the Northwestern High School Art Exhibition, put on by North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) in Brooklyn Park. The exhibit was featured Feb. 14 - March 3 at the Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery. During the exhibition, gallery visitors voted on their favorite artwork and winners were selected for all of the area high schools.

The Maple Grove Senior High School Merit Award winner was Dylan Auseth for his piece Pouring Vessel Set. The Honorable Mention award winners were Allison Weast (Syn Co-pe), Bjorn Nelson (In the Wild), Ella Williams (Raku Bottle) and Amariah Robinson (Behind the Veil).

For Osseo Senior High School, four students tied for the Merit Award. Those students were: Seth Vue with his piece Sleep is the Only Way Out, Cally Tran Concepcion with her piece Ikari, Gareth Price with his piece Angles, and Nkauj Huab Pha for her piece Self-Portrait with Cell Phone. Price also won the People’s Choice Award and will have his artwork featured on next year’s postcard and any promotional materials sent out. The Honorable Mention award winner was Tristen Ru-Zitch-Ka (Room on Fire).

The Park Center High School (PCSH) Merit Award winner was Ajena Yang for her piece Happy. The PCSH Honorable Mention winners were Yeleng Jordan Vang (She Takes My Breath Away), Rome Nguyen (The Other Bathroom), Yuko Lo (Ruby Red) and Foday Nyanplu (Silent Rage).
