Osseo Area Schoolsβ scholars benefit every day from the hard work and dedication of our school board. Feb. 21-25 is Minnesota School Board Recognition Week. This week of recognition has been set by the Minnesota School Boards Association to build awareness and understanding of the vital function school board members play in our society. ISD 279 Osseo Area Schools is joining other public school districts from across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week to honor our board members for their commitment to our scholars.

Superintendent Cory McIntyre noted that school board membersβ work is a year-round commitment, and countless hours are spent to assure the districtβs mission to inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams/ contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. The ISD 279 school board recently approved the following strategic directions for the district:
- Create safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environments that foster global curiosity, belonging, innovation and engagement.
- Build and nurture a culture of achievement by providing content rich, rigorous, equitable and individualized pathways.
- Promote inclusive participation of all of our communities and provide timely, relevant, and easily accessible communication.
- Create a system of operational innovation, excellence, accountability and sustainability.
- Address, acknowledge and reduce systemic disparities, barriers and inequities as we lead, develop and align our district toward continuous improvement.
