• Laurie Halverson elected as Dakota County Board chair for 2026 (dakotatimes.com) — Mendota Heights residents are represented by newly elected Dakota County Board chair Laurie Halverson, whose 2026 agenda includes expanding local greenways that run through the city. She also plans major county projects, like library renovations and a new hazardous waste facility, while warning of tough budget talks that could affect property taxes and services. Board committee leadership roles were also reassigned for the year. 
• Faith leaders, community members demand justice for Renee Good (kare11.com) — A Mendota Heights faith leader, Senior Rabbi Tamar MaGill-Grim of Beth Jacob Congregation, joined Minneapolis clergy demanding accountability after a woman was fatally shot by ICE agents. Speakers called for ICE to leave Minnesota and urged an administration that better values human life, framing the incident as a neighborhood safety and moral crisis. Their remarks highlighted concern for children and immigrant communities.
