Storm Dumps Five Inches of Snow on Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights
District 197 and 199 schools open, but cities' parking restrictions now in effect.

As expected, Winter Storm Q has brought about five inches of snow to the Mendota Heights and Inver Grove Heights area, and another inch or so could fall today.
District 197 and district 199 schools are open as usual, but enough snow has fallen that commuters are facing a long, hazardous drive, and both Mendota Heights and Inver Grove Heights's plowing operation have gone into effect. Major roadways are being cleared first, followed by collector and residential streets.
Inver Grove Heights is subdivided into eight plowing routes. Plowing begins between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. and, as long as snow keeps falling, workers will continue plowing for up to 12 hours to clear all 334 miles of roadway.
