Ice, Storm Close Some Mendota Heights Schools

Ten inches of snow could fall.

Ready or not, here it comes.

A “powerful system” is expected to dump snow in the area Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service

Up to 10 inches could fall by the time the storm passes through. A winter storm warning is in effect.

The National Weather Service warns that Thursday morning’s commute will likely be “heavily impacted.”

As of 6 a.m., both Convent of the Visitation School and St. Thomas Academy are closed, according to WCCO. Visitation's preschool program is also closed today.

A wintry mix was expected to begin before 7 p.m., with up to 3-5 inches of snow falling Wednesday night. 

It’s expected to continue Thursday morning, with another 3-5 inches forecasted.

Snow is also expected Thursday night and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
