1 Dead After Driver Slams Into I-94 Median In Minneapolis

The single-car crash left a 53-year-old Brooklyn Park man dead Sunday evening.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 53-year-old Brooklyn Park man is dead after speeding into a median on Interstate 94 Sunday evening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Just after 8 p.m. on Nov. 5, a 2016 Chevy Malibu was traveling at a "high rate of speed" north on I-94 when the vehicle lost control, hitting the guard rail and then the median head-on near 49th Avenue in Minneapolis, authorities said.

The vehicle's airbag was deployed. Emergency crews from North Memorial Hospital, the Minneapolis Fire Department, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation responded.
