Drivers in the Twin Cities metro area should prepare for heavy snowfall during the Friday evening commute.

MINNEAPOLIS — A winter storm is set to bring accumulating snow to eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Friday, with the heaviest snowfall expected during the evening commute.
Snowfall will begin Friday afternoon, with general accumulations of 1 to 4 inches across eastern Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service.
Western Wisconsin could see higher totals of 3 to 6 inches.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall during the evening rush hour, potentially causing hazardous travel conditions.
Bursts of heavier snow may lead to reduced visibility and slower travel times.
Light snow is forecast to continue through Friday night before tapering off ahead of sunrise on Saturday.
