TWIN CITIES, MN — Minnesota is poised to see a massive heatwave following the extremely cold temperatures this week.

But before then, there's another round of extremely, dangerously cold temperatures tonight.

"Northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph will lead to wind chills of 35 to 45 below this morning as our low temperatures are reached," the National Weather Service said. "High temperatures will remain near zero today. An Extreme Cold Warning continues until 10 AM this morning."

"It will be another cold night tonight with lows in the 15 to 25 below zero range," the NWS added. "Wind chills of 30 to 45 below are expected, coldest over western MN. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for parts of central and western MN, and northwest WI. Cold Weather Advisories are in effect elsewhere."
