April Fools’ Day Snowstorm Hits Twin Cities And Beyond: How Much Fell?

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — It was no April Fools’ joke. On Tuesday evening, another round of wet, slushy snow blanketed the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas.

As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport recorded 2.1 inches of snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.

Other nearby locations saw similar amounts: 2.8 inches fell in Chanhassen, 2.3 inches in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and 2.0 inches in St. Cloud.

Though not a blockbuster storm, the spring snowfall was enough to coat roads, slow commutes, and serve as a chilly reminder that winter isn’t quite done with Minnesota yet.
