From Byron To Plymouth: Minnesota’s Top Cities To Buy a House In 2025

MINNESOTA — A new national ranking highlights dozens of communities across Minnesota as top places to buy a house in 2025.

The 2025 “Best Places to Buy a House in America” list, published by the data analysis site Niche, evaluates more than 2,000 cities, towns, and suburbs across the United States.

The rankings are based on U.S. Census data, FBI crime statistics, and other public data sources. Each community is graded on 12 factors related to housing market quality and stability.

Those factors include median home values, home value-to-income ratio, property tax rates, cost of living, housing costs, public school quality, local crime rates, homeownership rates, recent home value trends, educational attainment, and the percentage of new residents ages 20 to 44.

Each location receives an overall housing grade, along with individual grades for schools, safety, and affordability.

9. Victoria (Carver County)
10. Shoreview (Ramsey County)
11. Rosemount (Dakota County)
12. Eden Prairie (Hennepin County)
