1. Five women were killed in a car crash Friday night at Lake Street and Second Avenue. KARE11 reports Derrick John Thompson, 27, was arrested for driving 100 miles per hour and running the intersection’s red light. Minneapolis police said the suspect is the son of former State Rep. John Thompson. (KARE11)
2. Metro Transit announced it will extend weekend service following Taylor Swift concerts at U.S. Bank Stadium Friday and Saturday. Bus service will now run past 1 a.m. Swift’s sold-out “Eras Tour” concerts run more than three hours. (KARE11)
3. More than 200,000 people will visit the downtown area this weekend for various events, the Star Tribune reports. Road closures are planned near “Loring Park, U.S. Bank Stadium and Target Center” which are expected to “make it more challenging to get into and around downtown.” (Paid source: Star Tribune)
