Dairy Queen Free Cone Day: Get Ice Cream In Minnesota
It may not feel like it in Minnesota, but Monday is the first day of spring. Minneapolis-based Dairy Queen is celebrating with free cones.

MINNEAPOLIS — With snow still piled up as far as the eye can see, Monday may not feel like the first day of spring. But temperatures are expected to rise near 40 degrees, and when it's March in Minnesota, that's worth celebrating.
To mark the start of spring, Minneapolis-based Dairy Queen is celebrating "Free Cone Day" on March 20. Ice cream lovers can stop by any participating DQ restaurant nationwide to pick up one free small vanilla soft-serve cone complete with a curl on top.
"We like to think of Free Cone Day as the beginning of our favorite season – treat season!" said Maria Hokanson, an executive at DQ. "As we welcome the first day of spring, we invite all fans to stop by a DQ restaurant, get their free cone and make great memories with friends and family."
