MINNEAPOLIS, MN — An incident that started as a fight inside the lobby of a Minneapolis apartment complex ended with two being fatally shot and another being arrested in connection with the double homicide, police said Saturday afternoon.
The Minneapolis Police Department responded to a call of a fight inside the lobby of Loring Towers apartment complex, 15 E Grant St., at about 1:50 p.m. Saturday, according to police and media repots. An investigation into the shootings show an argument between the three men, who all lived at the apartment complex, escalated and lead to the shootings. A shotgun and shotgun shells were recovered from the scene, police said.
“While today’s event is not random, it is yet another painful reminder on how quickly arguments can turn deadly when guns are involved,” said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. “We know how frightening it is for residents who heard the fight and heard gunshots inside their building. This is an active investigation and our homicide investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to this tragedy.”
