1. A Minneapolis teen was shot and killed Monday in the McKinley neighborhood, KSTP reports. Alan Jermaine Davis, 14, was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. (KSTP)
2. The Minneapolis Office of Community Safety announced more than 200 officers are needed to serve the city, in addition to several 911 operators. “I see these vacancies as an opportunity to staff our public safety departments with skilled, talented and competent staff who will support our efforts in transformative change,” Commissioner Cedric Alexander said this week. 3. City Council candidate Nasri Warsame can no longer seek the DFL endorsement after a group of his supporters stormed a stage at a recent convention. The party voted to ban him Tuesday. (MinnPost)
4. A Downtown Field Day will be held today at The Commons. The eight-hour event begins at 11 a.m. and will feature live music, food and games. (MPLS Downtown)
5. New exhibit “Going Out, Coming In: LGBTQ+ Spaces in Downtown Minneapolis” opens today at Mill City Museum. A free opening celebration will begin at 7 p.m. (MHS)
