1. A Brooklyn Park man faces multiple vehicular homicide charges after causing a car crash which killed five women last week in Minneapolis. The Associated Press reports Derrick John Thompson, 27, was just released from a California prison after serving time for a hit-and-run crash. He was also in possession of drugs and a weapon. He faces between 10 years and life in prison on federal charges. (AP)

2. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will visit Minneapolis tomorrow, KARE11 reports. The specifics of her visit have not been not released, but her office said she will make remarks at a political event and celebrate Pride month. (KARE11)

3. A memorial service for Madeline Kingsbury will be held Sunday in Winona. The ceremony will be open to the public and live-streamed. Kingsbury had been missing for two months when she was found dead, “allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend.” (BMTN)

4. Mayor Jacob Frey plans to name the city “Swiftieapolis” today as record-breaking recording artist Taylor Swift brings her “Eras” Tour to U.S. Bank Stadium for two nights. Frey is also expected to officially declare tomorrow Taylor Swift Day in Minneapolis. (Paid source: Star Tribune)
