'Freeze Warning' Issued For Much Of Twin Cities Metro: MN Weather

MINNEAPOLIS — A "freeze warning" has been issued for much of the Twin Cities metro area Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Counties included in the warning are Douglas, Todd, Stevens, Pope, Stearns, Lac Qui Parle, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Wright, Hennepin, Ramsey, Yellow Medicine, Renville, McLeod, Sibley, Carver, Scott, Dakota, Redwood, Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, Rice, Goodhue, Watonwan, Blue Earth, Waseca, Steele, Martin, Faribault, and Freeborn.

"Sub-freezing temperatures in the mid to upper 20s expected," the National Weather Service said. "Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing."

The warning lasts from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday.
