General Mills Sells Yoplait, All Other Yogurt Brands For $2.1 Billion
The Minneapolis-based manufacturer will sell its North American Yogurt business to two leading French dairy companies for $2.1 billion.

MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills will sell its North American Yogurt business to two leading French dairy companies for $2.1 billion, the Minneapolis-based consumer foods giant announced Thursday.
The deal includes several yogurt brands, including Yoplait, Liberté, Go-Gurt, Oui, Mountain High, and :ratio.
Manufacturing facilities in Tennessee, Michigan, and Québec will be turned over to the two buyers, Lactalis and Sodiaal. Lactalis is acquiring the U.S. business and Sodiaal is acquiring the Canadian business.

In total, the North American Yogurt business contributed about $1.5 billion to General Mills’ fiscal 2024 net sales.
"Today’s announcement represents another significant step forward for General Mills in advancing our Accelerate strategy and our portfolio reshaping ambitions," said General Mills Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Harmening.

The sale is expected to close in 2025.
