The poll comes less than two months before Election Day, finding that of likely voters, 7% are still undecided and 4% said they would vote for other candidates.

Trump leads among high school educated voters and rural voters — particularly in northeastern and western Minnesota. Biden leads in the KSTP poll in southern Minnesota, in what could be a a sign of trouble for U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn, the Republican congressman who represents the First Congressional District. Hagedorn, who is under scrutiny for spending taxpayer funds with a company owned by a congressional aide and the brother of his former chief of staff, is facing a rematch against Democratic challenger, Dan Feehan.

Trump enters the final stretch of his reelection campaign in poor standing with a majority of Minnesotans. The KSTP poll found that he is viewed favorably by 39% of Minnesota voters, while more than half — 53% of voters — view him unfavorably.

Women are far more likely to favor for Biden: 54% said they would vote for the Democratic nominee compared with 36% of women who said they would vote for Trump. Biden also holds a sizable lead among independent voters, leading Trump 47% to 30%.

Despite claims by the Trump campaign that its supporters are more energized, the poll suggests the opposite in Minnesota: “Among those who are 100% certain to vote, Biden leads by 13 (points),” the poll found.

The poll was conducted Sep. 4 through Sep. 7 and surveyed 750 adults in Minnesota, including 553 likely voters, with a margin of error of 5.2 percentage points.
