TWIN CITIES, MN — Minnesotans should prepare for a steep temperature drop this weekend, with lows in the 30s.

"Temperatures begin a downward trend starting today and continuing through early next week. A weather system will bring the chance for a few showers in eastern MN/western WI Sunday, otherwise the forecast looks quite dry," the National Weather Service.

"Freezing temperatures likely Monday and Tuesday morning."

Friday: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east northeast after midnight.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. East northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west southwest after midnight.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Columbus Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: Widespread frost, mainly after 5am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 33. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
