Major Stretch Of I-94 Will Fully Close This Weekend In Twin Cities

MnDOT urges drivers to avoid I-94 this weekend as bridge repairs force a full closure.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A major stretch of Interstate 94 in Minneapolis will fully close in both directions between I-35W and Huron Boulevard from Friday night through early Monday morning, officials announced.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, June 13, when all entrance and exit ramps between I-35W and Huron Boulevard shut down. By 10 p.m., both directions of I-94 will close as crews shift traffic for ongoing bridge repair work on eastbound I-94.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, June 16, but I-94 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction through mid-August.
