MINNEAPOLIS — Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer and many public pools in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area will open. Many pools will open for the season starting this weekend.

Here's a look at some of the major pool openings across the Twin Cities metro area:

  • Minneapolis Jim Lupient Water Park: June 15 – Aug. 8
  • Minneapolis North Commons Water Park: June 15 – Aug. 8
  • St. Paul May 25 - Sept. 2
  • Eagan's Cascade Bay: June 7 through Aug. 25
  • Hastings Family Aquatic Center: June 7 through Aug. 25
  • Valley Fair Soak City Waterpark: May 25 - Sept. 2
  • Lake Minnetonka Swim Pond: May 25
  • Bunker Beach Water Park: June 8 - Aug. 25
  • Maple Grove Community Pool: May 27
  • Maple Grove Elm Creek Swim Pond: May 25

East southeast wind around 15 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: A slight chance of showers before 7pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7pm and 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight.
