Minnesota Twins Fire Manager Rocco Baldelli After 7 Years, 527 Wins
Derek Falvey said the move was about "a different voice," not Baldelli's effort or leadership.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Minnesota Twins announced Monday that Rocco Baldelli will not return as the team’s manager in 2026, ending a seven-year run that included three division titles and the club’s first postseason series win in more than two decades.
Baldelli, 44, was named the 14th manager in Twins history in October 2018. He compiled a 527–505 (.511) record over seven seasons, the third-most wins in franchise history.
He guided the Twins to American League Central Division titles in 2019, 2020, and 2023, and earned AL Manager of the Year honors in 2019. In 2023, Baldelli led the team to a Wild Card Series victory over Toronto — the club’s first postseason series win since 2002.

“This is a difficult day because of what Rocco represents to so many people here,” Twins President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey said in a statement. “He led with honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our players and staff. This decision is not a reflection of Rocco’s effort or leadership. It reflects where we are as an organization and the belief that a different voice is needed to help us move forward.”
Falvey also thanked Baldelli’s wife, Allie, and their family, saying their impact “extends well beyond wins and losses, and it will remain part of this organization for years to come.”

Baldelli departs trailing only Twins Hall of Famers Tom Kelly and Ron Gardenhire in career wins.
The Twins will begin their search for a new manager immediately. The 2026 coaching staff will be determined by the incoming manager in collaboration with Falvey and Executive Vice President and General Manager Jeremy Zoll.
