Patchy Frost Possible Overnight In Minnesota
Temperatures are staying stubbornly low for mid-May, and gardeners may need to act fast.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Don’t stash your blankets just yet. A chilly May weekend continues across Minnesota, and the National Weather Service is warning of patchy to widespread frost developing tonight, especially across central and western parts of the state.
Saturday night lows will hover around 40 in the metro, but outlying areas could easily dip into the 30s.
While no formal frost advisory had been issued as of Saturday morning, NWS forecasters expect frost to form under mostly cloudy skies and light northwest winds.

"Frost is likely in western and central Minnesota tonight," the NWS said.
Gardeners Take Note
Even in the Twin Cities, sensitive plants could be at risk, especially if skies clear unexpectedly overnight. Cover up your vegetables and flowers, or bring planters indoors as a precaution.

No hazardous weather is expected after tonight, but the week ahead will remain cool and damp:

The good news? By the end of next week, temps should finally start feeling like spring again.
