Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Twin Cities Metro: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the entire Twin Cities metro area and well beyond Thursday. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.

"Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m.," the National Weather Service said. "Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 62. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent."

Minnesota counties included in the watch are Anoka, Blue Earth, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Houston, Isanti, Le Sueur, Martin, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, Winona.

Wisconsin counties included in the watch are Barron, Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, La Crosse, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau

Iowa counties included in the watch are Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Emmet, Floyd, Hancock, Howard, Kossuth, Mitchell, Palo Alto, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Worth
