1. The parents of Madeline Kingsbury plan to file for full custody of her children, BMTN reports. Kingsbury was found dead last week after being missing from Winona for two months. Her ex-boyfriend and the father of her children Adam Fravel has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. (BMTN)

2. The rubble from an Uptown apartment building fire is causing neighbors concern, CBS reports. Neighbors say the pile on Lyndale Avenue has been there since December and attracts “animals, graffiti and trash dumping.” (CBS)

3. A Juneteenth celebration will be held Saturday in Bethune Park. The event will feature live music, art, family activities and more to commemorate Freedom Day, “the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.” University of Minnesota will also host a Juneteenth Block Party Saturday in North Minneapolis. 4. Twin Cities chef Sean Sherman has received the Julia Child Award, CBS Minnesota reports. The Owamni founder was also recently named to Time Magazine’s Most Influential People list. (CBS)
