Police are investigating after a 17-year-old girl died days after being shot in north Minneapolis earlier this month.

MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a 17-year-old girl died days after being shot in north Minneapolis earlier this month. No arrests have been made.
On July 7 just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation indicating a shooting near Dowling Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North.
Police found a 17-year-old girl seated in a vehicle with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers treated her until she was transported to North Memorial Health.

A 30-year-old man with wounds from the same shooting incident later arrived at North Memorial Health in a passenger vehicle. The man is expected to survive.
However, on July 12, police were notified that the girl died from her injuries at the hospital.

Police believe the teen was seated in the vehicle which was parked in a parking lot when the shooting occurred.
Minneapolis investigators are working to determine how the teenager and man are connected to the incident.
