MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A fan was ejected from Target Center during the fourth quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the Golden State Warriors on May 8 after making "racially charged" comments toward Warriors forward Draymond Green, according to a statement from the Timberwolves.

The interaction was partially caught on video.

Team officials said the fan was removed by Target Center security for violating the NBA Fan Code of Conduct. Another individual, also identified by surrounding spectators as directing racially charged remarks at Green, left the arena before security could confirm his identity.

"The team is continuing to investigate, and additional action may be taken," the statement read.

The Timberwolves and Target Center said they remain "firmly committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all."

"Racist, hateful, or threatening behavior has no place at our games or in our community and will not be tolerated under any circumstances," the team added.

The fan ejection sheds light on postgame comments from Green, who told reporters he believes there is an "agenda" against him.

"Looked like the angry Black man," Green told ESPN and other reporters. "I'm not an angry Black man. I am a very successful, educated Black man with a great family, and I am great at basketball and great at what I do."

"The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry Black man is crazy," he added. "I'm sick of it. It's ridiculous."

Green was fouled by Minnesota’s Naz Reid with 8:46 remaining in the second quarter.

After the foul, Green swung his left arm toward Reid’s head, causing Reid to fall to the floor. Reid was called for the personal foul, but following a video review, Green was assessed a dead-ball technical foul. He is now two technicals away from an automatic one-game suspension.

The Timberwolves cruised to a 117-93 victory Thursday night, evening the series at 1-1. The series now shifts to San Francisco for Game 3 on Saturday night.
