‘Unimaginable Tragedy’: Minneapolis Police Say Man Killed 2-Year-Old Daughter, Then Himself
Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minneapolis police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a man fatally shot his two-year-old daughter and then took his own life.
At about 12:20 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a home in the 2900 block of Colfax Avenue North, where they found a man in his 50s and his two-year-old daughter dead from gunshot wounds.
The child’s mother was in the residence at the time but was not physically harmed, police said.

"This is an unimaginable, heartbreaking tragedy," said Chief Brian O’Hara. "Our hearts are with the child’s mother as she faces an overwhelming loss, and with the officers and investigators who responded to such a devastating scene."
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the names of the deceased, along with the official cause and manner of death.
