Westbound I-94 In Minneapolis, St. Paul Closed Aug. 15 Weekend For Bridge Repairs

The westbound lanes between Interstate 35E and Interstate 35W will be shut down all weekend for bridge work and detours.

ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Department of Transportation said westbound Interstate 94 will be closed between Interstate 35E in St. Paul and Interstate 35W in Minneapolis from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, as part of an ongoing project to repair nine bridges over I-94 and I-35E in St. Paul, including maintenance on the Dartmouth Bridge.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured from northbound I-35E to westbound Highway 36, then southbound I-35W.

The Marion Street bridge over I-94 will also remain closed through late September, with traffic detoured via Rondo Avenue, John Ireland Boulevard, and Marion Street.

MnDOT said the work is weather-dependent and more weekend closures are planned this summer and fall. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and slow down in work zones.
